The children have been developing their skills with the hedgehog game by putting the spikes into the hedgehog and pulling them out. The children have used simple language, such as in and out. This game has provided the opportunity for children to make a choice around which colour to put in while developing understanding, attention and social skills.
One child took an interest in the coloured pegs in preschool and was able to name the colours and select where she wanted to place them. She was able to create her own patterns and pictures, developing her imagination and good hand-eye coordination.
We have also enjoyed threading activities during this term. Threading supports fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and pre writing skills.
